Advanced Artificial Intelligence set to manipulate social media soon: Elon Musk- Edexlive
Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is beyond mere chatbots will soon be used to manipulate social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has warned. In a tweet, the staunch AI critic said that day is not far. "If advanced AI (beyond basic bots) hasn't been applied to manipulate social media, it won't be long before it is," Musk tweeted on Thursday. In his recent debate with former Alibaba Chairman Jack Ma, Musk entered into a classic argument over the capabilities of emerging technologies like AI. Musk said that computers will one day surpass humans in "every single way". He has predicted that a single company that develops "God-like super intelligence" might achieve world domination.
AI system capable of writing fake news is released by two students
An artificial intelligence project capable of writing fake news that was deemed'too dangerous' to release to the public has been recreated by two university students. Open AI, a project founded with the support of Elon Musk, is able to generate news stories from a headline or first line of text. In February, the firm released a limited version of its software for other developers to use, to explore its potential. The firm, which Musk is no longer involved in, has since launched an updated version of the software with half of the power of the full AI. Now, computer science master's students Aaron Gokaslan and Vanya Cohen from Brown University have shared code for what they say is the full version.

Elon Musk AI creates news generator that's 'too dangerous' to release!
An artificial intelligence project backed by SpaceX founder Elon Musk has been so successful its developers are not releasing it to the public for fear it will be misused. Research group Open AI developed a'large-scale unsupervised language model' that is able to generate news stories from a simple headline. But the group insists it will not be releasing details of the programme and instead has unveiled a much smaller version for research purposes. Its developers claim the technology is poised to rapidly advance in the coming years and the full specification and details of the project will only be released when the negative applications have been discussed by researchers. Elon Musk's AI research group Open AI announced in a paper yesterday that it has generated'a large-scale unsupervised language model' that can write news stories from little more than a headline.

Elon Musk: To avoid becoming like monkeys, humans must merge with machines
In recent years, Elon Musk has become one of the most vocal critics of artificial intelligence, issuing numerous warnings about the threat that powerful machines pose to the future of mankind. Now the 47-year-old billionaire inventor and Tesla chief executive has unveiled a potential way for the meager human brain to compete with a superior force that Musk has compared to "an immortal dictator" and "the devil." During an interview with Axios co-founders Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen that aired Sunday, Musk said humans must merge with artificial intelligence, creating a "symbiosis" that leads to "a democratization of intelligence." "Essentially, how do we ensure that the future constitutes the sum of the will of humanity?" "And so, if we have billions of people with the high-bandwidth link to the AI extension of themselves, it would actually make everyone hyper-smart."

Robots could become radicalised and commit MASS MURDER if they are badly coded
Robots could become radicalised if they are badly coded, an expert has warned. Professor of electrical and computer engineering Subhash Kak from Oklahoma University believes robots could become mass murderers if they are not wired correctly. Although the danger does not exist with the current technology, Dr Kak believes future technical malfunctions could put thousands of peoples' lives at risk. Earlier this year he issued another chilling warning saying that the machine takeover will lead mankind into a'hellish dystopia'. Robots could become radicalised if they are badly coded, a computer engineer has warned.

Elon Musk is 'wrong' about the impact of Artificial Intelligence on humans: ex-Google chief
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt believes Elon Musk is wrong about the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on human beings. Speaking at "VivaTech" conference in Paris on Friday, Schmidt said that the AI can help humans become smarter and bring about positive changes. Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk has been pretty vocal about his views about the AI. Musk in the past has said that the AI is bad for humanity and can even trigger World War III. "I think Elon is exactly wrong" about AI, Schmidt said.
Elon Musk's concerns about killers robots are 'speciesist', according to Google founder Larry Page
Billionaire friends Elon Musk and Larry Page are reported to have a'funny' relationship. Musk apparently crashes at Page's house where they play video games together to pass they time. But the pair also argue about some major issues, including AI. A new book by renowned MIT professor Max Tegmark recounts a heated debate between the two tycoons at a glamorous party in Napa Valley. During the debate, Page accused Musk of being'speciesist' for his apparently outlandish claims that killer robots could wipe out humanity.

Elon Musk continues to warn of AI threat, claiming it will become an "immortal dictator" - SmartCompany
Not only does millionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk have his fingers in a lot of different startup pies, he also has a lot of something else: opinions. It's well documented that Musk loves to share these opinions, however weird, through Twitter, sometimes going so far as to get into fights with various members of the public over city planning and the merits of public transport (he's not a fan). But every now and then Musk will express some of his better thought-out opinions through a different platform, such as via an interview or at a conference. This time, he was interviewed for a short documentary called Do You Trust This Computer? Given its name, you may have guessed the topic was the future of artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence and the new atheism
Elon Musk, the driving force behind Tesla, the world's first driverless motor vehicle, is among the growing number of people who are warning us about the increasing dominance which artificial intelligence (AI), is exercising over our lives in the form of computers, robots and other devices. Musk has said that in AI we have created more than a mere Frankenstein's monster: we have created an entity which will become an "immortal dictator" and enslave all humankind in perpetuity. Human dictators are mortal and eventually die, liberating their subjects from oppression. But AI will be a deathless dictator from whom we can never hope to free ourselves. In its various forms, AI already runs much of our daily lives.
